Event FAQs
Where am I going when I arrive?🗺️🪧
- This subject is located on our Welsh Bridge Campus
- Your CLASSROOM will be in: Seven building (Green 🟢 flag) - room S4
- Please arrive at the listed campus no earlier than 10mins before the start time
- Our Welcome Team will be on hand to help you find your way around.
What do I need to bring with me?✏️📄
- Normal school/subject supplies, such as your pencil case
How do I get to the campus?🚲🚗
- Arriving by Car: Please use St Austin's Street or Frankwell Main council car park as there is no Parking or Drop Off facility available on our Welsh Bridge Campus. You can find the locations of both car parks plus the main buildings on the Welsh Bridge Campus here https://shrews.co/WBgm
- Arriving by Bike: We have plenty of bike racks available for you to use on-site (bikes are left at your own risk)
Do I need to bring my parents/carers with me?👥
Nope! These Tasters are specifically designed for you to begin to experience what attending a college is like, and it's a really important step towards independent learning. Parents/carers are welcome to drop you off, but you will be greeted at the gates by our Welcome Team, who will send you through to your sessions (parents/carers can go and get some Christmas shopping done!). You can then meet up with them in town at the end of the event and let them know how it all went.
What if I need support on the day?💁♂️💁♀️
No problem; if you have additional learning needs or if you need support during your lesson/taster session, please email als@shrewsbury.ac.uk at least 7 days in advance of your activity's date and our team will get in touch to arrange the support you need to take part. If there is a requirement for your parent/carer to attend with you, that can be discussed and agreed with the team.
How do I get to the other campus if I have a session there?👈👉
Session times will allow you to swap between our town centre campuses if you need to, and the fastest way to do that is to walk:
- 10-12 minutes if you make your way through the centre of town > Shrewsbury College Town Campus Walk 1 | Videos & Movies on Vimeo
- 12-14 minutes if you follow the Town Walls (easiest if you are not familiar with Shrewsbury as you just follow the walls) > Shrewsbury College Town Walls Campus Walk | Videos & Movies on Vimeo
- 15-17 minutes if you take the scenic Quarry Park route > Shrewsbury College Quarry Campus Walk | Videos & Movies on Vimeo
